At that time, Uthman ibn Affan was worried about the famine conditions that befell the Muslims, they have difficulty getting water for drinking and performing ablution, the only one water source that is still flowing is only the well of raumah, his affection this well belongs to a Jew and given the tariff high for those who want to get his water.

Rasulullah SAW who is very concerned about this condition then said which means "O my Friend, any one of you who donate his wealth to be able to free the well, then donate it to the people will get His heaven Allah Taala."
Hearing these words, Uthman ibn Affan also immediately rise up to the Jewish people with intention to buy his well, Uthman ibn Affan offer the well at a high price, unfortunately his Jew is still insisting not to sell his well, but Uthman bin Affan not discouraged, he again offer prices with a higher again, then the Jew began to tempt with his price and willing to sell his wells to Uthman ibn Affan.

But this Jew does not want to sell his wells as a whole, he still wants to own this well, his ultimately Uthman ibn Affan also approves it and divides the time of ownership of this well a day for him, and his day again for the Jew.

On the day that the well belonged to Uthman Bin Affan, he commanded the Muslims to take water for two days' supply, today and tomorrow. So when tomorrow this well belongs to the Jews, there is no longer any Muslim who buys water to the Jews, because they all have prepared water for the need for two days.

No wonder, the Messenger of Allah said that Allah SWT will provide his heaven for who can free the well, if seen from its benefits, then this well is very useful for the Muslims at that time, even to this day the well was still continue to be used to irrigate plantations around him.
